Farmer Who Refused to Spray Pesticides Has Conviction Overturned

Emmanuel Giboulot, a biodynamic winemaker in Burgundy who refused to spray his vines with pesticide has had his conviction overturned because the original prefectural order to treat all vines in the Beaune area had not been approved by the minister of agriculture.

The social media support for Mr Giboulot from around Europe was enormous, shedding light on reliance of French agriculture on pesticides (world's third largest user).
